Eucalyptus baueriana

Tree to 20 m tall; bark rough over trunk and large branches, grey, box-type. Crown of mature tree consisting of juvenile leaves. Juvenile leaves petiolate, opposite for few pairs then alternate, orbicular to broadly ovate, often undulate, to 10 cm long, 7.5 cm wide, glossy, green; reticulation very dense, fine, with numerous, small, island and intersectional oil glands. Inflorescence a terminal panicle; peduncles to 1 cm long, 7-flowered; buds pedicellate, diamond-shaped, to 0.6 cm long, 0.3 cm diam., scar present; operculum hemispherical to conical; stamens inflexed with\ outer staminodes; anthers adnate, cuboid; ovules in 4 vertical rows; flowers white. Fruit pedicellate, obconical, to 0.7 cm long, 0.6 cm diam.; disc descending; valves 3 or 4, below thin, often split, rim; seed brown, irregularly ovoid and slightly flattened, surface shallowly reticulate, hilum ventral.
