Rhizome long, creeping. Fronds distant, large. Stipe long, grooved. Lamina much divided; rachises and midveins grooved and hairy. Sori very small, globular, terminal on veins, marginal, in 2-valved, cup-like structure formed by inner membranous indusium and recurved leaf margin; spores tetrahedral.
About 70 mostly tropical species, only 1 occurring in Australia.
