Flowering plant 20–30 cm tall, rather slender. Leaf erect, more or less linear, 10–18 cm long, 4–8 mm wide, somewhat fleshy, channelled. Stem bracts 2 or 3. Flowers 1–5, pale green and coppery-red; subtending bract lanceolate, 7–35 mm long, tapering to a fine point, shorter or longer than flower; pedicel (excluding ovary) 6–12 mm long; sepals pale green or yellowish-green on inner (adaxial) surface; dorsal sepal erect, broadly ovate, 13–16 mm long, 8–9 mm wiide, concave, acute; lateral sepals ovate, as long as dorsal sepal, 5–6 mm wide, spreading or slightly deflexed; petals spreading, ovate, asymmetric, 8–9 mm long, 5–6 mm wide, pale green with several longitudinal reddish stripes. Labellum blood-red or coppery, obliquely decurved, the main part obovate-elliptic, 28–30 mm long, and mostly covered with hairs to c. 6 mm long, the proximal part papillate only, the apical portion lacking hairs, ligulate, c. 15 mm long, 1–3 mm wide, often kinked. Column short, widely winged, pale green with 2 purple or blackish eye-like glands at base, lacking a connecting ridge. Flowers Oct.–Nov.
