Corm up to 2.5 cm diam. Leaves 8–40 cm long, 0.7–2.4 cm wide. Inflorescence 4–10-flowered, arranged on a flexuose axis. Primary bracts membranous, green and each with a dark brown apex. Flowers sub-actinomorphic, pale pink or rarely light vermilion, flushed deeper pink at base of each lobe. Perianth tube c. 1 cm long, narrow basally, expanded distally; lobes 2.4–3 cm long, each lobe spreading, concave. Stamens irregularly arranged around style or asymmetrically arranged to one side of flower; anthers yellow or purple. Flowers Oct.–Nov.
Naturalised in SA. Native to South Africa. Once collected from Charlton.
