Leaves ovate, 0.6–2 cm wide, margins densely and regularly serrulate-dentate. Flowers white, at least initially. Flowers mainly Nov.–Mar.

Known to hybridise with Epilobium billardiereanum subsp. cinereum where the 2 subspecies grow together.
