Asexual propagules absent. Cushions, yellowish. Stems ascending, 4–12 mm tall, light to dark brown, with dark brown rhizoids at base. Leaves erect to erect spreading when moist, erect, appressed when dry, lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, 0.8–1.3 mm long, 0.2–0.4 mm wide, carinate to concave; apex acuminate or acute; costa excurrent as a hairpoint; hairpoint hyaline, denticulate, to 0.8 mm long; margins entire, recurved, without a border; laminal cells in apical half quadrate to rectangular, 5–18 μm long, 5–13 μm wide, smooth, straight walls or slightly sinuose, bistratose in apical 2/3, not distinctly incrassate, gradually transitioning into basal cells toward base; basal laminal cells rectangular, 13–43 μm long, 5–15 μm wide, smooth, narrowest at margin. Sporophyte not seen. Capsule reported to be immersed.
