Mostly glabrous, perennial herbs with creeping rhizomes. Leaves ternately divided. Inflorescence a compound umbel; involucral bracts and bracteoles usually absent. Flowers bisexual, white or pinkish; sepals vestigial or absent; petals obovate, apex inflexed; nectary conical. Fruit oblong, oblong-ovoid or ovoid, slightly flattened laterally, glabrous; vittae obsure or absent; mericarps 5-ribbed, prominent to obscure; carpophore bifid at apex.

7 species native to Europe and Asia; 1 species naturalised in Victoria.
