Stellaria multiflora subsp. multiflora
Glabrous herb, often mat-forming or erect; stems to 36 cm long, sometimes rooting at nodes. Leaves sessile to petiolate, obovate, elliptic, ovate or linear, 4–10 mm long, (0.6–)1–2.5(–3.5) mm wide, usually acute. Fruiting pedicle to 20 mm long, collar absent. Petals 0, sometimes 2–4, (0.2–)0.5–0.8(–1) mm long, shortly bifid or reduced to a single arm; stamens 5–10. Capsule broad ellipsoid, (2–)2.5–5(–5.5) mm long, usually 2–3 mm wide, shorter or longer than sepals; valves straight or spreading, apex strongly revolute. Seeds (5–) 7–21, suborbicular to broadly ellipsoid, 0.5–1(–1.3) mm long. Flowers Sept.–Nov.
VVP, GipP, OtP, Gold, CVU, NIS, EGL, EGU, WPro, HSF, HNF, MonT, VAlp. Scattered, but rather uncommon, occurring in a range of habitats (including low forest and heathlands, and alpine grassland).
