Oxyrrhynchium laevisetum
(Geheeb) Ignatov & HuttunenDioicous. Dense wefts on soil, rocks and tree trunks, dull green. Stems creeping, pinnately or irregularly branched, yellow to brown, with fascicles of brown rhizoids on ventral surface, central strand present. Stem and branch leaves similar. Stem leaves spreading when moist, directed forward to incurved from spreading base when dry, cordate-ovate to broadly cordate-ovate, 0.8–1.8 mm long, 0.45–0.9 mm wide, concave or plane; apex narrowly acuminate; costa extending to c. ¾ leaf length, abaxially often ending in a sharp spine; margins denticulate, plane. Branch leaves ovate, 0.9–1.6 mm long, 0.4–0.75 mm wide, concave; apex acuminate; costa extending to c. ¾ leaf length; margins denticulate or occasionally entire near apex and base, one or both sides recurved in basal 1/5; midlaminal cells 40–122 (–130) μm long, 6.5–11 μm wide; alar cells not differentiated. Seta 12–20 mm long, orange-brown to brown, smooth, occasionally low-mammillose. Capsules ±horizontal, oblong-cylindric, curved, 1.5–2 mm long, brown to tan.
