Diffuse, odorous shrub to c. 1 m high; stems with dense long non-glandular and shorter glandular and non-glandular hairs. Leaves alternate; lamina broad-ovate to ± triangular, to c. 8 cm long and 10 cm wide, entire or shallowly 3–7-lobed and toothed with acute teeth, strigose with spreading hairs mostly on veins, or more or less glabrous; margin strongly and acutely toothed; petiole 1–7 cm long. Umbels 3–10-flowered; peduncle to 8 cm long; pedicels 5–10 mm long; sepals 12–16 mm long, sepal spur 10–20 mm long; petals obovate, 15–45 mm long, light to deep pink, steaked or blotched crimson; fertile stamens usually 8. Fruit 8–15 mm long; mericarps hairy. Flowers Sep.–Jan.
VVP, GipP, OtP, WaP, CVU, HSF, OtR. Also naturalised WA, SA, NSW, Tas. Of cultivated origin. Recorded from coastal dunes at Port Fairy but occasional plants may become weakly established by vegetative propagation, typically from dumped garden refuse, elsewhere.
