Diplasiolejeunea
Epiphyllous (not in Victoria), epiphytic or rarely lithophytic (not in Victoria), dioicous or monoicous (not in Victoria). Asexual reproduction by discoid gemmae formed on lobe (not in Victoria). Stem irregularly pinnate; branches emerging from main stem ventral to an unmodified lateral leaf and with a lobed and foliose collar at base. Lateral leaves imbricate (not in Victoria) or distant, spreading close to substrate or rising away from substrate (not in Victoria), narrowly attached to stem at base; lobe elliptic or ovate to nearly orbicular, entire, rounded at apex; lobule smaller than lobe, elliptic or ovate to obovate (not in Victoria), usually inflated, fused along basal margin to lobe forming an arching keel ending in a sinus or continuing the curve of adjoining lobe margin, free along apical margin and involute at least near base, with two marginal teeth toward apex; tooth furthest from stem single celled or (not in Victoria) multicellular and subulate or T-shaped, with hyaline papilla at base on inner surface of lobule; tooth closest to stem single celled or multicellular and subulate (not in Victoria), sometimes inflexed into inside of lobule (not in Victoria); cells usually hexagonal, smooth, with evenly thick walls or with distinct trigones and sometimes occasional intermediate thickenings, sometimes with single oil bodies and forming ocelli (not in Victoria) near base or scattered throughout, otherwise with 2–15 granulose ellipsoid to fusiform oil bodies. Underleaves present, one to each lateral leaf, V-shaped, distant to imbricate (not in Victoria); lobes ovate to lanceolate or filiform, entire or crenulate; cells hexagonal, quadrate, rectangular or triangular, evenly firm-walled or with distinct trigones (not in Victoria), smooth, with 2–15 granulose ellipsoid to fusiform oil bodies. Perianth pyriform or obovoid to cylindric (not in Victoria), 5-plicate or rarely terete (not in Victoria), without tubercles or teeth, with a short beak at apex.
