Sweet River TeatreeShrub to 3 m high; bark on smaller stems smooth, shedding in stringy strips, fibrous and persistent on larger stems. Young stems with a narrow to broad flange near base of petiole. Leaves narrowly obovate to obovate, 8–17 mm long, 2–7 mm wide, flat, glabrous; apex obtuse or acute or emarginate, flat to incurved. Flowers 10–12 mm diam.; hypanthium 2.5–4 mm long, glabrous; pedicel to 1 mm long; sepals triangular, c. 2 mm long, glabrous on outer surface (occasionally with ciliate margins), deciduous; petals 3–4 mm long, white; ovary 5-locular, apex glabrous. Fruit persistent, broadly hemispherical, 5–7 mm diam., surface ultimately shedding in papery flakes, valves woody; seeds c. 2 mm long, with a linear-striate surface pattern. Flowers Nov.–Feb.
