Densely mat-forming perennial to c. 6 cm high, rootstock creeping, branched. Leaves all basal, pinnate, lamina ovate to broad-lanceolate in outline, 0.5–1.5 cm long, 0.5–1.5 cm wide; leaflets 7–11, linear, acute, glabrous except for fine toothed to ciliate margin; petiole 0.5–1 cm long; leaf-sheath with ciliate margins. Scape decumbent, glabrous, rarely with scattered hairs, usually slightly longer than leaves and elongating to c. 4 cm in fruit; umbels mainly 5–7-flowered; involucral bracts 5–9, more or less obtuse with ciliate margins and apices, c. 2 mm long. Petals white (yellow when dried), glabrous, c. 2 mm long. Fruit 2–12 per umbel, ovate to lanceolate, 3–4 mm long, dark brown, glabrous, with 5 prominent filiform ribs. Flowers and fruits Dec.– Mar.

HNF, VAlp. Also NSW. Extremely rare in Victoria, and known from low herbfield communities in drainage or seepage areas below late-lying snowpatches on the Bogong High Plains.
