Slender, erect shrub to c. 1.6 m high. Branchlets tomentose. Leaves crowded, erect to spreading, linear-lanceolate to lanceolate, 5–13 mm long, 0.6–3 mm wide, glabrous, flat or concave, mid-vein keeled toward apex beneath, otherwise venation ± obscure; apex acuminate, mucronate; margins minutely serrulate; base cuneate; petiole absent or to c. 1 mm long. Flowers subsessile in axils forming terminal clusters or crowded along the upper 10 cm or more of branches; bracts 13–30; sepals lanceolate, 4.5–7.5 mm long, acuminate; corolla white, tubular to narrowly campanulate, tube 4.5–8 mm long, equal to or slightly exceeding the calyx, puberulent internally, lobes 2.7–4 mm long, obtuse; anthers enclosed; ovary puberulent, nectary scales narrowly triangular, style slightly thicker and pubescent in middle third, 5.5–7.5 mm long. Flowers mostly Aug.–Jan.
