Small epiphytic or terrestrial ferns. Rhizome short, thick, erect or long-creeping. Lamina regularly pinnate; ultimate segments with only one vein. Sori terminal on lateral segments of pinnae; indusium tubular. Receptacle projecting from indusium. Sporangia large. Description based on Victorian specimens only.
About 25 species throughout the tropics, concentrated in the Old World; 4 in Australia, 1 in Victoria. Victorian specimens have previously been included in Macroglena and breifly in Cephalomanes C.Presl.
