Erect annual or biennial herb to 2 m tall, glabrous or sparsely hairy. Petiole to 4 cm long; leaflets obovate, elliptic or narrow-oblong, 10–30 mm long, 3–12 mm wide, apices rounded or subacute; stipules lanceolate, 2–7 mm long, margins entire. Inflorescences 7–60 cm long, longer than subtending leaves, elongating in fruit; peduncle 4–15 cm long. Flowers 40–100, on pedicels c. 1 mm long; calyx 1.5–2 mm long, 5-veined, teeth shorter than tube; corolla 4–6 mm long, white; standard longest; wings slightly longer than keel. Pod obovoid, 3–5 mm long, slightly compressed, reticulate-wrinkled, mucronate, greyish-brown; seeds 1 or 2, ovoid, 2–2.5 mm long, smooth, light brown. Flowers all year.
