Description as for species, but leaves 3–5-foliolate (sometimes lower leaves simple), glabrous or with a sparse indumentum, hairs sometimes arched, but usually straight. Flowers spring.
LoM, Wim, GleP, VVP, VRiv, GipP, OtP, WaP, Gold, CVU, GGr, DunT, HNF, OtR, VAlp. Also SA, Tas. In Victoria occurring in heathland and heathy open woodland, mostly in the south-west, but with scattered populations in the Mansfield-Bright area.
