Crinum flaccidum

Bulb ovoid, 7–10 cm diam., neck shortly developed, not protruding above ground. Leaves few, flaccid, strap-shaped, 30–80 cm long, 1–5 cm wide. Scape erect, somewhat compressed, to c. 70 cm high; bracts papery, 7–12 cm long; umbel with 4–14 white or cream, scented flowers; pedicels 2–5 cm long; perianth tube 5–12 cm long, lobes elliptic, 4–8 cm long; stamens c. half as long as perianth lobes; anthers crescent-shaped. Capsule 1–3 cm diam.; seeds 1–3, whitish, subglobose, 6–10 mm diam., commonly germinating before falling. Flowers Feb.–Jun.
