Stems 4–7 mm long, brown, Leaves erect-spreading when moist, strongly cork-screwed when dry, narrowly lanceolate, 1.2–3 mm long, 0.2–0.5 mm wide, strongly carinate; apex acute; costa strong, at least 1/3 leaf width at base, subpercurrent to percurrent; margin entire, recurved around midleaf, without a distinct border; lamina cells in apical half quadrate to shortly rectangular, 6–16 μm long 7–13 μm wide, smooth or with linear striations, bistratose in parts, abruptly transitioning to basal laminal cells; basal laminal cells quadrate to rectangular, 12–70 μm long, 10–13 μm wide, smooth, extending further up costa to c. 1/5 of leaf length. Perichaetial leaves similar to vegetative leaves. Seta 6–13 mm long, yellow or red-brown, smooth, slightly twisted anticlockwise. Capsule erect, ovoid, ellipsoid or cylindric, 0.7–1.7 mm long, straight, yellow-brown to brown. Operculum rostrate from conic base, 0.6–0.8 mm long.
