 Spreading tree to 15 m tall; bark rough, blackish-brown, persisting to secondary branches. Seedling leaves green. Inflorescences usually 3-flowered, rarely 5- or 7-flowered. Fruit to 0.9 cm diam. Flowers Jan.–Mar.
GleP, VVP, GipP, OtP, DunT, EGL, EGU, WPro, HSF, HNF, OtR, Strz. Apparently endemic on sandy coastal heaths east from the Bellarine Peninsula to around Lake Tyers. On the coastal plains east of Marlo populations of half-barked trees are probably intermediates between subsp. viminalis and subsp. pryoriana. .
