Annual or perennial herbs or small shrubs with densely white-woolly branches. Leaves alternate, sessile, linear to semi-terete. Flowers solitary or paired in leaf-axils; perianth small, 5-lobed, immersed in woolly hairs; stamens 5; stigmas 2 or 3. Fruiting perianth developing 3–5 woolly, blunt linear processes from tube in a Y-shaped or vertically compressed configuration; radicular slit prominent; pericarp membranous; seed horizontal.
Endemic Australian genus of 4 species from southern arid or semi-arid areas.
