Stems prostrate, robust, to c. 1 mm diam.; lateral stems ascending to erect, to c. 10 cm high. Leaves closely spaced, usually 4–11 mm long, ± fleshy, entire. Flowers Oct.–Mar.
VVP, GGr, EGL, WPro, HSF, HNF, HFE, VAlp. Also NSW, ACT, Tas. In Victoria scattered mainly in east with isolated western occurrences in the Grampians and Wannon Regions. Grows in open pools and swamps often at higher altitudes.
