A presumed hybrid between Lachnagrostis filiformis and L. rudis, and currently known only from banks of the Crawford and Glenelg Rivers, near Dartmoor, SW Victoria. It differs from the former in having less hairy lemmas and a weaker awn, and from the latter in lemmas hairier than typical and the awn, while still weak and non-geniculate, generally longer and inserted on the lemma nearer the base. Presumed backcrosses to either parent make circumscription difficult. Anthers are generally shrivelled and contain little pollen, suggesting it has low fertility.
