Hypoxis hygrometrica var. villosisepala
R.J.F.Hend.Leaves 10–20 cm long, 1.5–2 mm wide. Inflorescences usually 2–6. Flowers often 2 per inflorescence; perianth lobes elliptic, 7–15 mm long, at least the sepals hairy externally; seeds globular. Flowers most of year except winter.
VVP, VRiv, GipP, OtP, Gold, CVU, GGr, NIS, EGU, HSF, HNF, OtR. Also Qld, NSW, Tas. Moderately common on sandy soils in the south (Mornington Peninsula, south Rosedale, Providence Ponds area, etc.) and scattered amongst low rocky mountain ranges (Grampians, Brisbane Ranges, Mt Pilot etc.), but apparently absent from drier and heavier soils of the Mallee and Riverina respectively, and not entering the alps or subalps.
