Lotus preslii

Procumbent or erect annual herb; stems to 1 m long, glabrous or sparsely hairy. Leaflets dimorphic, virtually glabrous; basal 2 ovate or lanceolate, 6–15 mm long, 2.5–5 mm wide, apices acute or acuminate; terminal 3 obovate, 7–20 mm long, 2.5–6 mm wide, apices acute. Inflorescences 2–5-flowered; peduncle 2.5–12 cm long; calyx campanulate, 7.5–9 mm long, teeth erect in bud, about equal, 1.5 times longer than tube; corolla 10–12 mm long, bright yellow; standard ovate, longer than keel; keel upturned, obtusely curved on lower edge near base, beak slightly curved. Pod terete, 1.7–3.7 cm long, 2–2.5 mm wide, glabrous; seeds 10–20, globose, 1–1.5 mm long, brown. Flowers summer–autumn.
