Perennial subshrubs to 50 cm high, much branched, branches to 10 mm diam. Leaves oblanceolate, (10–)15–35 mm long, 5–13 mm wide, obtuse, dorsoventrally compressed, tapering towards base, green, often with a red margin. Inflorescence a rounded thyrse. Flowers 5-merious; calyx-lobes triangular, 2.5–3 mm long, acute, often minutely toothed along margin; corolla white, sometimes tinged red, lobes oblong-ovate, 4–5.5 mm long, acute, with a dorsal appendage, recurved, becoming reflexed; nectary scales transversely oblong, 0.3–0.4 mm long, 0.4–0.6 mm wide; carpels oblong-reniform. Flowers Mar.–Jun.
VVP. Native to South Africa. Known in Victoria from a single population near Geelong, plants apparently established from dumped garden refuse.
