Dioecious, short-lived (?) perennial subshrub to c. 80 cm high and wide. Leaves c. ovate to obovate, 6–15 mm long, 4–8 mm wide, margins crenate to shallowly lobed, nerves deeply impressed above, both surfaces densely stellate-hairy. Flowers solitary or in small clusters; pedicels to c. 15 mm long; calyx 3–5 mm long, 5-lobed from near base, stellate-pubescent; petals obovate, 9–12 mm long in males, c. 6 mm long in females, white, often pubescent near base; anthers 10–30; styles 6–11. Fruit broadly ovoid, c. 2 mm high, 4–6 mm diam., stellate-pubescent; mericarps indehiscent, ± wedge-shaped. Flowers Sep.–Oct.
