Thysanotus racemoides
Sirisena, T.D.Macfarl. & ConranStems mostly dichotomously branched, to c. 60 cm tall, rather rigid, ridged, tuberculate at least near base but smooth, arising from a short, knotty rhizome; roots without tubers. Leaves few, basal, or absent, subterete, 6–8 cm long. Umbels mostly 2-flowered, rarely to 4-flowered, terminal and subterminal on branches; perianth segments spreading, 12–15 mm long, pink to mauve; fringe on petals 3–4 mm long; stamens shorter than perianth segments, anthers curved, 3 outer 3–6 mm long, 3 inner 6–12 mm long. Flowers Nov.–Jan.
LoM, MuM, Wim, GleP, VVP, OtP, GGr, DunT, EGL, EGU. Also SA. In heathland and mallee communities mostly toward the SA border as far north as the Big Desert, also in the Grampians, with outlying eastern occurrences near Anglesea.
Recently (2013) segregated from Thysanotus juncifolius (see note under that species), which is now restricted to eastern Victoria.
