Tussocks robust. Leaves terete, 20–50 cm long, 1–1.5 mm diam., light green; basal sheath absent; apex pungent. Male and female inflorescences similar, unbranched, usually composed of 1 or 2 (female inflorescence), or 3–7 (male inflorescence) interrupted spike-like spherical clusters, usually from one-tenth to one-quarter as long as the leaves; non-flowering axis exposed for 1.5–5.5 cm; flower-bearing axis up to 6 cm long. Male and female flowers similar, 3.5–4.5 mm long; pedicels usually embedded among hairs of modified bracts, c. 1 mm long. Perianth c. 5 mm long, outer perianth white, inner perianth yellowish. Flowers Aug.–Oct.
LoM, MuM, Wim, GleP, VVP, Gold, CVU, GGr, DunT. Also SA. Scattered in sandy heath-land communities associated with occasional mallee eucalypts.
