Pascalia glauca
OrtegaErect perennial herb to 70 cm high, rhizomatous; stems glabrescent. Leaves sessile, narrow-lanceolate, mostly 5–10 cm long and 4–10 mm wide, surfaces pubescent to scabrous with appressed tubercle-based hairs, apex acute, margins sometimes with a few remote basal teeth. Capitula solitary, 10–15 mm diam.; involucral bracts 2-seriate, lanceolate, 6–10 mm long, herbaceous, pubescent; receptacle scales lanceolate, c. 5 mm long. Ray florets 10–14, bright yellow, ligules 7–10 mm long; disc florets numerous, yellow. Cypselas truncate, c. 4 mm long, angled, wingless; pappus a minute irregularly toothed crown. Flowers autumn.
VVP, GipP. Native to South America. In Victoria known mostly by a few old collections from Bannockburn, Geelong and near Melbourne, and rediscovered along railway line near North Melbourne railway station in 2003. It is usually found near habitation.
