Climbing, fibrous-rooted perennial; stems occasionally with adventitious roots. Leaves hastate to broadly sagittate, rarely cordate; lamina 13–35 mm long, 14–35 mm wide, margins entire or occasionally broadly crenate; petiole 10–32 mm long. Calyx 10–16 mm long, glandular-villous; segments 2–3 mm wide, not keeled; corolla blue-violet with whitish base; tube 26–31 mm long; lobes 6–10 mm long, lower 3 projecting forward. Capsule 11–17 mm long, irregularly ovoid. Seeds without wings. Recorded fruiting in Victoria in July.

EGL. Also naturalised WA, NSW. Native to Mexico. Recorded on a dry stony slope in open forest beside Mallacoota Inlet near Mallacoota township.
