Stellaria multiflora subsp. nebulosa
C.H.Mill. & J.G.WestProstrate to erect herbs, glabrous or with sparse hairs on the stem and pedicle; stems to 23 cm long. Leaves sessile to petiolate, obovate, linear, elliptic to narrow ovate, (1.5–)2.5–11(–17) mm long, (0.3–)0.7–2(–3) mm wide, usually acute. Fruiting pedicle to 26 mm long, collar absent. Petals 0; stamens 3–10. Capsule narrow ovoid to narrow ellipsoid, (1.9)3–5.4(–6) mm long, 1–2 mm wide, equal to, or exceeding sepals; valves spreading or straight, apex straight, sometimes slightly recurved. Seeds (3–)5–17(–21), suborbicular to ellipsoid, 0.5–1(–1.2) mm long. Flowers Sept.–Nov.
MuM, Wim, GleP, Brid, VRiv, WaP, CVU, GGr, WPro, HNF. SA, NSW, Tas. Apparently uncommon, scattered throughout central and western Victoria.
This subspecies appears to be defined by the absence of distinctive characters such as those found in the other two subspecies (i.e. the collared pedicles of subsp. collaris or the broad, almost campanulate capsules of subsp. multiflora).
