Erect, perennial herb to 30 cm high. Stems slender, glandular-puberulous. Leaves linear, to 3.5 cm long, flat or revolute, glandular-puberulous and with minute sessile glands, often sparsely cottony on lower surface. Capitula in compact clusters or racemes. Involucre urceolate or hemispherical, c. 6 mm diam.; outer bracts lemon-yellow; intermediate bracts long-clawed, c. 5 mm long, medially ciliate, sparsely woolly-ciliate near base. Female florets with 0–2(–3) pappus bristles; bristles slender, shortly plumose near apex, scabrid.
