Perennials with erect or decumbent branches to 30 cm high, usually much-branched, branches 1–2 mm at diam. at base, internodes usually covered in short papillae. Leaves lanceolate, 8–15 mm long, 1–3 mm wide, subulate, dorsoventrally compressed to terete, dark green, often covered in a thick whitish bloom. Inflorescence bracteate, a flat thyrse. Flowers 5-merious; calyx-lobes triangular, 1–2 mm long, acute; corolla white to cream, lobes narrowly oblong-elliptic, 4–5(–6) mm long, with dorsal ridge, slightly recurved; nectary scales transversely oblong, 0.2–0.3 mm long, 0.4–0.6 mm wide; carpels almost cylindric. Flowers Feb.–Apr.
VVP. Native to South Africa. Naturalised near Point Cook, where growing under planted Eucalyptus cladocalyx, where presumably established from dumped garden refuse.
