Spikes 2–4, mostly less than 3 cm long; spikelets 2.5–3 mm long; lemma with dense, ± appressed, silky hairs along the keel; leaves with scattered, spreading, tubercle-based hairs in the lower half. Flowers Feb.–May.
MuM, VVP, VRiv, MSB, RobP, MuF, GipP. Also ?WA, SA, NSW. Apparently indigenous and rare in Victoria, recorded only from the Murray River floodplain downstream of Cobram (e.g. Barmah Forest, Tocumwal, Ulupna Island, Kerang, Hattah Lakes, Neds Corner), but often locally common. Usually on silty or clay soils in Eucalyptus camaldulensis woodland.
