Perennial stellate-pubescent shrub. Leaves alternate, margins entire to shallowly lobed; stipules absent. Flowers bisexual, long-pedicellate, 1–3 in axils; epicalyx lacking; calyx campanulate or hemispherical, 5-lobed to c. midway, persistent, slightly enlarged in fruit; petals 5, free; stamens numerous, the staminal tube shortly adnate to base of petals; locules 3(–4), style unbranched, stigmas 3, capitate; ovules 2 per locule. Fruit a loculicidally dehiscent capsule; seeds glabrous, minutely tuberculate or colliculate.
Monotypic genus, endemic to south-eastern Australia.
