Tree to 30 m tall, rarely multi-stemmed from the base; bark rough to the small branches, thick, fibrous, coarsely furrowed longitudinally. Crown grey-green, bluish-green or light green. Juvenile leaves sessile, opposite for many pairs, orbicular to broadly ovate, to 4.5 cm long, 4.5 cm wide, glaucous, rarely green; adult leaves petiolate, alternate, lanceolate to falcate, 5.5–20 cm long, 1–2.8 cm wide, glossy, grey-green to blue-green or light green; reticulation dense, with numerous, island oil glands. Inflorescences axillary, unbranched; peduncles flattened, to 0.5 cm long, 3-flowered; buds sessile or rarely shortly pedicellate, diamond-shaped, to 0.8 cm long, 0.5 cm diam., scar present; operculum conical; stamens inflexed; anthers dorsifixed, cuneate; ovules in 4 vertical rows; flowers white. Fruit sessile or shortly pedicellate, obconical to campanulate, to 0.7 cm long, 0.7 cm diam.; disc raised-annular; valves 3 or 4, rim level or exserted; seed grey-brown to blackish, flattened-ellipsoid, minutely pitted, hilum ventral.
