Carpobrotus glaucescens

Leaves 3.5–10 cm long, 9–15 mm thick, glaucous, c. equilateral near the middle, faces flat or slightly convex, the keel smooth or crenulate near the apex. Flowers 4–6 cm diam.; pedicel c. 2–3 cm long; calyx tube oblong or expanded above, acutely 2-angled; sepals 5, the 2 longest 16–40 mm long, keels smooth or crenulate; petaloid staminodes c. 100–150, 16–30 mm long, in 3 or 4 series, light purple merging to white at and near base, streaked brown close to the midline when dry; stamens c. 300–400, in 5–6 series; ovary concave to flat on top; styles 7–10, free. Fruit slightly compressed-cylindric to slightly ellipsoid, weakly 2-arigled, 2–3 cm long.
GipP, OtP, EGL. Also Qld, NSW. Apparently confined to the coast east from about Wingan Inlet, but precise distribution unclear due to previous confusion with C. rossii.
