Peppermint-scented. Variable, but leaves generally ovate or lanceolate, cuneate at base. Inflorescence of several to numerous dense pseudowhorls slightly separated, or more or less continuous then appearing spicate. Flowers mostly Feb.-Apr.
Gold. Also naturalised WA, SA, NSW. Recorded from margins of watercourses near Werribee, Woodend and Dandenong Ranges.
Cultivated for its aromatic foliage and used as a tea, flavoring or for its attributed health properties.
