Pterostylis jonesii
G.N.Backh.Flowering plant 15–70 cm tall, stem leaves 5–7, spreading, linear-lanceolate, 1–7 cm long, 3–5 mm wide. Rosette leaves 3–6, ovate to elliptic, 0.6–2.5 cm long, 2–6 mm wide, margins flat or crinkled. Flowers 1–11, 13–16 mm long, shiny, translucent dark green with indistinct darker green stripes, sepal tips bright orange-brown; galea decurved in the distal third; dorsal sepal with an acuminate apex; lateral sepals deflexed, conjoined part elliptic, 12–15 mm long, 6–8 mm wide, free points 4–5 mm long, divergent; petals slightly falcate, basal flanges narrow and elongate, apex obtuse. Labellum oblong to narrow ovate-oblong, 5.5–6.5 mm long, 2–2.5 mm wide, tawny or pale brown with a dark brown to black basal mound and a blackish central stripe, covered with transparent, beaded cells and with numerous acicular cells towards the base, apex attenuate, notched. Flowers Aug.–Nov.
Gold, NIS, HNF, VAlp. NSW, ACT. Currently known only from north-eastern Victoria in wet sclerophyll forests, moist areas of montane open forest and on drier slopes and ridges in tall forest in rainshadow areas, on clay loam soils.
