Hysterobaeckea behrii
(Schltdl.) RyeErect shrub 1–2.5 m high. Leaves more or less terete, not spreading, 3–8 mm long; apical point recurved. Flowers solitary (rarely paired) in axils, white or pink, to 10 mm across; pedicel almost as long as leaf; bracteoles 2, linear, caducous; hypanthium hemispherical; calyx-lobes broad; petals orbicular, 2.5–4 mm long; stamens 11–15, in groups opposite calyx-lobes, filaments geniculate; ovary 3–5-celled, almost flat-topped. Fruit cup-like, c. 3 mm diam.; seeds flat-sided with rounded backs. Flowers Sep.–Jan.
LoM, MuM, Wim, VRiv, RobP, Gold, GGr, DunT. Also SA. In Victoria confined to the central-north (Bendigo area) and the northwest, mostly in mallee scrub, commonly on shallow soil overlying sandstone or laterite outcrops.
