Flowering stem slender to stout, 30–55 cm tall. Leaf-blade 10–25 cm long, 3–6 mm diam. at base, apex suberect, senescent at flowering time. Flowers 15–30, greenish brown to reddish brown, pink or white, fragrant, in a moderately crowded spike 7–20 cm long; ovary obovoid, 4–5 mm long; sepals 8–11 mm long, dorsal sepal ovate-lanceolate, lateral sepals free or fused only at base, linear-lanceolate, recurved, parallel; petals linear-lanceolate, 9–11 mm long. Labellum subsessile, porrect, 7–9 mm long, recurved at about right angles near middle, lamina usually pink or white, margins entire; callus plate prominently raised, channelled, greenish, broad at base then tapered, extending almost to the labellum apex. Column appendages oblong, c. 2 mm long. Flowers Oct.–Nov.
VVP, GipP, NIS, EGL, EGU, HSF. Endemic to Victoria where found in seasonally wet grasslands and grassy woodlands on heavy clay loams.
