Bellis
Annual or perennial herbs. Leaves radical and/or cauline, alternate, entire, crenate or serrate. Inflorescence often scapose; capitula solitary, pedunculate, broadly hemispherical; involucral bracts in 2 series, subequal, herbaceous; receptacle conical to slightly convex; outer florets female, in 1–few series, ligules prominent; style branches linear, glabrous, papillose; inner florets tubular, bisexual, 4–5-lobed; anthers with short, oblong apical appendages; style branches short, triangular, papillose. Cypselas compressed, margin thickened; pappus absent or a rarely a rudimentary ring of bristles.
7 species, from Europe and North Africa; 1 naturalised in Australia.
