Leptospermum micromyrtus

Shrub to 3 m high, bark on smaller stems smooth and papery or becoming rough, shedding in papery flakes, on larger stems smooth, shedding in papery strips. Young stems with a narrow flange near base of petiole. Leaves obovate to almost circular, 7–22 mm long, 3–14 mm wide, flat, glabrous; apex obtuse, sometimes with a small point, flat. Flowers c. 15 mm diam.; hypanthium 3–4 mm long, glabrous; pedicel to 1 mm long; sepals triangular, c. 3 mm long, glabrous on outer surface, deciduous; petals 5–6 mm long, white; ovary 5-locular, apex glabrous. Fruit persistent, broadly hemispherical to obconical, 5–9 mm diam., surface ultimately shedding in papery flakes and becoming fissured, valves woody; seeds 1.5–2 mm long, with a linear-striate surface pattern.
