Erect or spreading perennial herb. Stems white-cottony. Leaves narrowly oblong to obovate or broadly obovate, to 6 cm long, flat, closely cottony to cobwebbed. Capitula in dense cymes. Involucre semiorbicular, to c. 10 mm diam.; outer bracts yellow, sometimes tinged reddish-brown, somewhat woolly at base; intermediate bracts c. 4 mm long, ciliate except for apex. Female florets with 4 or 5 pappus bristles; bristles shortly plumose towards apex.
