Thuidium subglaucinum
CardotDioicous. Loose or dense wefts on soil. Stems to c. 10 cm long, branching irregularly and remotely to regularly and densely bipinnate; branches to c. 1 cm long. Stem leaves erecto-patent when moist, appressed or incurved when dry, broadly ovate, to c. 1.5 mm long, to c. 1.1 mm wide, concave, plicate or smooth when moist, plicate when dry; apices acute; costae subpercurrent; margins minutely crenulate, narrowly recurved at base, otherwise plane or incurved; cells isodiametric to oblong-hexagonal, c. 7–10 μm wide, pluripapillose. Branch leaves patent when moist, loosely appressed when dry, broadly ovate, to 0.4 mm long, concave; apices acute; costae extending 2/3 leaf length; margins minutely crenulate; cells isodiametric or nearly so, 7–11 μm wide, pluripapillose. Setae 2.5–2.8 cm long, yellowish-brown. Capsules c. 2.2 mm long.
CVU, EGU, VAlp. Recorded from rainforest, beside creeks or in subalpine woodland from a few disjunct locations in Victoria (e.g. Mount Cole, Dargo High Plains, Raymond Falls near the Snowy River, and Mount Drummer). Also QLD, NSW and ACT. East Asia.
