Plants usually freely branching from base and above. Leaves oblong to oblanceolate, to 10 mm long, 3 mm wide. Flowers both solitary and in clusters or all clustered. Sepals 0.5–1.2 mm long, petals 1–1.5 mm long. Mature capsules 1.2–1.5 mm long; seeds elliptic, 0.6–1 mm diam., papillate or ± acutely tuberculate in several dorsal rows, with lower, elongate tubercles on the sides. Flowers Oct.–Nov.

VRiv, GipP, CVU, NIS, HSF, HNF, VAlp. Known in Victoria by a few collections from shallow pools and wet soil in alpine areas on the Snowy Range toward Mt Howitt, Wonnangatta River and at lower altitudes in the foothills of the Strathbogie Ranges (Merton and Benalla areas) and in the Melbourne suburb of Hampton.
